I know it will be another painful night

Sofia has been losing her hair for almost 3 weeks. From a reasonalbe amount to now she has a bold ring around her head. Everyday, I have to remove countless hair on her clothes, her sheets, even her face After I have done a lot of internet research, I am still worried eventhough with knowing that for baby to lose their birth hair is normal.

Yesterday morning I felt I cannot stay at home ignoring her hair problem any more. I decided to visit the near by walk-in clinic to get some professional opinion.

20 minutes to prepare Sofia and myself to leave, 5 minutes driving, 1 hour waiting, and guess what? 5 minutes with the doctor. The professtional answer for my concer of Sofia’s hair was “it is normal, don’t worry”. With that, I felt I was so relieved. It is normal, many babies have this problem, there is nothing need to be worried. Sofia won’t be bold. New hair will grow. Didn’t I know it before? Why I have to have a doctor’s answer to make me feel better eventhough the doctor only took 3 second to look at her head and gave me a 5 words answer?

Maybe I am over worried?

Yesterday was another over tired day for Sofia.

She had about 2 hours sleeping during the day here and there. By 7pm, her eye lids were red, she kept rubbing her eyes and ears, one of her eyes was watery. But she did not want to sleep. By 12am, she still was excited. She was kicking her leg in the air, moving her arms, talking to the ceeling, and the most killing part was that she was smiling at Gaston and me all the time. We tried everything we could to put her to sleep, but she just ignored us. In the end, we had to put her in the middle of our bed, Gaston held her left hand, I held the right hand to provent her to rub her already red eyes, I also had to pat her, and of course, the powerful “SH~~~~”. Finally around 1pm, she felt into sleep, lightly, which means, she still was moving and trying to rub her eyes.

It was one of the most difficult night since she was 1 month. So today, I decided, I will not do anything but focus on puting her sleep during the day.
